Category: GUIDES
Planet Clicker looks simple from the outside. Click a planet, earn energy, buy upgrades. But anyone who has played past Earth knows there is a real system underneath, and knowing how that system works is the difference between grinding for hours and snowballing your energy in minutes.
This is the Planet Clicker guides hub. Everything here is written from actual gameplay, not pulled from a wiki or recycled from somewhere else. Whether you have just opened the game for the first time or you are trying to figure out why your energy output stopped growing on Mars, there is a guide here for exactly where you are right now.
Walkthroughs
Planet-by-Planet Walkthroughs
The three planets in Planet Clicker are not just cosmetic stages. Each one plays differently, demands a different approach to upgrades, and rewards a different kind of attention. Here is what to expect at each stage.
Earth
Your starting point. The pace is slow, upgrades are cheap, and the biggest mistake here is hoarding energy. Spend early. The compounding effect starts sooner than most players expect.
Mars
Resource generation accelerates here. New upgrade categories open up and idle mechanics kick in for real. Players who over-invested in Earth usually struggle at this stage.
Venus
The endgame. Energy numbers get large, upgrades get expensive, and patience becomes the main skill. Getting here means you built your system correctly from the start.
Each planet has its own dedicated walkthrough covering what to prioritize, what to skip, and how to use idle time to your advantage. If you are just getting started, the How to Play guide covers the foundations before you move into the planet-specific content here.
Upgrade Guides
Upgrade and Shop Guides
The shop is where Planet Clicker strategy lives. Three upgrade types interact with each other in ways that are not immediately obvious, and getting the balance right is what separates fast progressors from players who feel stuck.
Click Multipliers
Most valuable in the early game when manual clicking is your main income source. Prioritize these before automation kicks in.
Auto Generators
The backbone of idle play. Stack these early and your passive energy compounds faster over time. The most important investment mid-game.
Efficiency Boosters
Mid-to-late game tools that multiply everything you have already built. Buying them too early is one of the most common mistakes in the game.
The guides in this section break down each upgrade category individually. You will find details on what each type does, when to buy it, and how it interacts with everything else. There is also a full upgrade priority guide covering the best purchase order from Earth through Venus. For a broader look at how to think through upgrade decisions, the Strategy section goes deeper on the decision-making side of the game.
Milestones
Progression Milestones and What to Aim for Next
One of the most common questions players have is not what to buy, but how to know when they are ready to move on. Planet Clicker does not telegraph its milestones the way most games do. There is no quest tracker or level-up notification. Progress is something you have to read from the numbers.
The energy thresholds for unlocking Mars and Venus are known, but the number alone does not tell the whole story. The real question is whether you have built enough passive generation to sustain momentum on the next planet without running out of resources right after the unlock. Arriving at Mars with exactly enough energy to get there, and nothing left for the first wave of upgrades, is a trap that slows a lot of players down.

First Time Here
New to Planet Clicker
If this is your first time here, the best starting point is not a strategy guide. It is the game itself. Planet Clicker has a natural learning curve built into the early Earth phase, and a lot of the strategy here makes more sense once you have felt the transition from manual clicking to your first wave of automation.
Spend ten or fifteen minutes in the game, get a feel for the shop, and let the questions come up naturally. Then come back here.
The How to Play guide is a solid next read. It covers the full game structure, the upgrade categories, and the planet progression arc in a way that sets up everything in this section. From there, the beginner guide and the upgrade priority guide are the two most useful reads for anyone in their first hour with the game.
The guides here are not meant to replace the experience of playing. They are written to make that experience less frustrating and more intentional.
